PATIO HEATERS

Bringing Indoor Comfort to Outdoor Living.

What Are Infratech Patio Heaters?

Infratech heaters offer warmth that enhances the comfort of a wide range of outdoor spaces – from homes, restaurants, and commercial properties. These patio heaters incorporate details like low clearance requirements and sleek silhouettes that enable them to blend seamlessly into the surrounding décor. All Infratech heaters are UL Listed for indoor and outdoor use, proudly made in the USA, and are supported with outstanding customer service and one of the most extensive Three-Year Warranties in the industry.

How Does Infrared Heat Work?

Infrared heaters work much like the sun. They emit infrared light which is absorbed by you and nearby objects. Since this form of radiant heat does not heat the air, but rather objects, the warmth will not “blow away” in windy conditions. They do not require refillable propane tanks and are virtually maintenance-free. These heaters can be grouped and regulated in different zones, for the ability to adjust comfort while minimizing energy consumption. Infratech patio heaters improve health by generating zero emissions or unpleasant odors. And, because they are medium wave infrared, they do not emit a harsh, bright light. Instead, they emit a pleasant glow that will not hurt your eyes. Built with you in mind, these heaters provide comfort and convenience.

Patio Heater FAQ's

Gas heaters are much cheaper to buy and install than electric heaters. However, they do not last nearly as long and require regular servicing. Electric heaters are far more efficient and are virtually silent. They are also safer to use because there are no flammable gases involved. Electric heaters are also easier to use. With an electric heater, you simply flip a switch and enjoy warm air instantly. No mess, no fuss, just warmth!

It is easy to estimate your operating cost by multiplying the total kilowatts by your local power rate for a “kilowatt hour” (kwh). Standard power rates vary from market to market. Your rate should appear on any monthly utility statement. For example, a typical 3,000-watt (3 KW) heater, at full power, would cost 39¢ per hour based on a utility rate of 13¢ per kwh.

Operating costs vary by location. Nationwide, electric heat units are less costly than propane and also match natural gas prices. Based on the total number of hours used, electric heaters normally offer a far better value than propane or natural gas. Essentially, this means that while electricity may cost more per hour to run in certain regions, it typically takes about seven to ten years to save enough money operating on gas to recover the substantially higher purchase. Not to mention, regular maintenance for an electric heater is considerably cheaper than gas systems. In essence, this means that while electric heaters may cost more per hour in some locations, they typically provide a far greater return on investment over the life of the system.

Using a 110/120-volt heater (1,500 watts maximum) is fine for enclosed areas like garages, work areas or outdoor spaces no larger than 5′ x 5′. When heating larger areas, running a dedicated 110/120-volt circuit is not practical or economical. A 240-volt circuit will require the same amount of wiring, will heat substantially larger areas with greater comfort, and will simply require two spaces in the breaker panel, rather than one.

If you are concerned about ambiance, Infratech infrared quartz elements are always the best choice. Infratech quartz elements provide comfortable medium wave heat. Competitive products with short-wave halogen elements produce more intense heat while emitting very bright and harsh-colored light. By contrast, Infratech medium wave elements effectively heat your space, while providing a soft, warm glow that is basically unnoticeable.
