Why You Should Do a Test Soak Before Purchasing a Hot Tub

The concept of a hot tub test soak may seem a little weird at first. You go into the store, change into your swimsuit, and test a hot tub on the showroom floor. But, a hot tub is a big investment, and trying it out is the best way to ensure you’re choosing the right one.

Why is a Test Soak Important?

You’ve probably done lots of research online, but you ultimately need to get in one in order to truly check it out. A wet test allows you to experience every aspect of the tub – from the sound to the functionality of the tub. Once you have narrowed down your options to a few spas, you’re ready to take a test soak to see which one is the best for you.

After a test soak, you will have a much better understanding of the features and functions that the hot tub has to offer. The jets & seats may actually feel completely different than you imagined them to feel – which could mean you eliminate that tub from your list or you know for certain that it’s the best one for you.

What to Look for During Your Test Soak

Size & Space

Make sure that the spa is not too big or too small – both inside and out. Ensure that it’s big enough to fit everyone that you want to fit, and make sure that the spa itself will fit in the space where it’s being installed.

Seating

In most spas, the depth of the seats is multi-level. Move around, try each seat, and make sure that everyone fits. Make sure that the seats are comfortable for you.

Jet Placement & Jet Type

Different jets provide different types of massages. If you’re looking for hydrotherapy for specific areas of your body (like your feet, shoulders, wrist, or back), make sure that the spa you’re testing has the right type of jets to accomplish this.

Jet Power

The power of the jets is just as important as the placement and type of the jets. The power determines the level of massage, and the jets should be adjustable.

What to Bring to Your Test Soak

Bring your swim attire. We have a private restroom to change in and to hang your own towels (or you can use our provided towels). We turn down the lights in the spa room and a salesperson stays up front for the duration of the wet test and will pop back periodically to answer questions and see if you need anything.
